Martial Arts Action Game Sleeping Dogs Gets Release Date and Pre-Order Bonuses

The marketing train has officially left the tracks for Square Enix's latest upcoming foray into the world of fast-paced, martial arts action. Just earlier this week we brought you news of MMA champ Georges St-Pierre (GSP) being consulted for combat design, and now Sleeping Dogs has been tagged with an official launch date of August 14th.

In what has become par for the course in the world of game launches, Square Enix has also let us in on what can be expected in the way of pre-order bonuses for the game.

Continue the latest trend in pre-order bonuses, Sleeping Dogs will offer you your pick of three different pre-order Packs depending on where you choose to purchase your copy from. The list breaks down as follows:

Best Buy:
Reserving your copy from the brick-and-mortar retail giant nets you: GSP's signature "flying punch" move, a GSP outfit including his signature headband (this also boosts your grappling and throwing damage)

Amazon:
Reserve your copy from comfort of your desktop and you'll get the 'Martial Arts' Pack which includes: a 'Shaolin Showdown' Mission, a Shaolin Warrior outfit (nets you increased striking damage), bonus triad XP points, and a Wing Chu decoration for your safehouse.

Exclusive content for the PC version of the game will be announced at a later date.

Note: The pre-order bonuses are in fact in-game bonuses, and in no way imply that you will receive any piece of GSP's physical clothing, actual increases to your real-world grappling skills, or a real Shaolin Warrior outfit.

Guess I'll just be raising my XP with the Triads the old fashioned way...
