Martial Arts Actor Spotlight: Dolph Lundgren

Close to two months ago Time magazine featured an interesting list of "Brilliant Classroom Characters: The Top 10 Wicked Smart Actors". While much of the list is worth taking a look at, one name stood out more than others. Dolph Lundgren, whose martial arts action background could inspire jealousy alone, also maintains a shockingly impressive academic background that few people seem to realize.

Continue reading for a brief rundown of some of Mr. Lundgren's more impressive accomplishments both on and off screen.

Before the Swedish martial artist made his career by emotionally destroying Rocky Balboa and saving the universe from Skeletor, he was actually on course to become a laboratory genius. After graduating high-school with straight A's, Dolph won multiple American academic scholarships with which he attended Washing State University and Clemson University studying Chemistry.

Later, Dolph earned a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering from The Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden). As if that weren't enough, he then went on to win a Fulbright scholarship to MIT.

Shortly after, Dolph's entertainment career slowly took off and we pretty much know the story from there. That's some seriously impressive academic achievement for someone who has made a career of beating people to a pulp.
