  DESCRIPTION
This is an authentic ninja uniform that is built to last. It's not made of cheap costume material.

The Ninja Kid Costume is everything kids dream of when they say they want to dress like a ninja. Forget about cheap Halloween outfits that rip at the seams before the candy bag is full. This set is the real deal. It comes with a full ninja uniform, complete with a jacket, pants, arm gauntlets, mask, and hood, plus a full set of plastic weapons to fuel endless adventures. Kids get the look and feel of a shinobi while parents get the durability of a real martial arts-style gi. That's a win for everyone.

The uniform is built from a 55 percent cotton and 45 percent polyester blend, so it's tough enough to stand up to serious play but soft enough to wear all night. The jacket ties on the inside like a real gi and even includes reinforced stitching. The pants have traditional waist and leg ties that let kids run, jump, and crouch without feeling restricted. Add in the mask and hood for that mysterious ninja vibe, and suddenly your child is ready to sneak through the shadows or pose for some unforgettable Halloween photos. And when the fun's over, toss it in the wash, because the fabric is machine washable. Parents will be thrilled there's no glitter, glue, or messy makeup involved. This is a costume that goes on easily and comes off just as fast.

What really sets this costume apart is the Deluxe Ninja Weapons Pack. Kids don't just look like ninjas, they feel like ninjas too. The set includes two plastic swords, one long and one short, each with its own scabbard. There's also a pair of nunchaku, two throwing stars, and even a set of spike knuckles. Every piece is lightweight and safe for play, but together they make the costume feel complete. For children who love action, this is the difference between just wearing a costume and fully stepping into character.

Part of the magic of this outfit is how it ties into the real history of ninjas. Known as shinobi in Japan, ninjas were covert agents who lived during the country's feudal period. Unlike the samurai, who followed strict codes of honor, ninjas were all about results. They specialized in stealth, espionage, and unconventional tactics. That meant disguising themselves as farmers or merchants to sneak behind enemy lines, slipping into castles under cover of darkness, or using tools that weren't part of the samurai's traditional arsenal. Throwing stars, smoke bombs, and small hidden weapons became linked to their legend. They weren't just fighters, they were problem solvers, using creativity and cunning to survive. That's exactly what makes dressing up as a ninja so exciting. It's not just about combat, it's about stepping into the role of someone clever, adaptable, and always one step ahead.

Kids love the weapons, and there's history there too. While the sword has become the most iconic ninja weapon in movies and games, real ninjas often relied on shorter blades because they were easier to conceal. Shuriken, or throwing stars, weren't usually deadly but were used to distract or injure, giving ninjas a chance to escape. Nunchaku, which kids instantly recognize, were originally farm tools adapted into weapons. Ninjas were masters of using everyday items in unexpected ways. Even the idea of spiked knuckles connects to how ninjas valued tools that were simple but effective. By including this range of props, the Ninja Kid Costume lets kids act out the full variety of tricks and tactics associated with the shinobi.

The uniform itself tells a story too. We often think of ninjas wearing all black, but historically they wore whatever blended in. In towns, they might wear farmer's clothes. In forests, earth tones or greens made more sense. The image of the black-clad ninja actually became popular in Japanese theater, where stagehands dressed in black were meant to be "invisible" to the audience. Playwrights used this trick to show ninjas appearing suddenly on stage, and over time, black outfits became the standard image of ninjas in popular culture. The gi in this costume follows that pop culture tradition with the mask and hood that kids love. It captures the mystique that makes ninjas so appealing while staying true to the martial arts roots of the uniform's design.

From a cultural perspective, ninjas represent resourcefulness, discipline, and intelligence. They weren't noble knights or polished samurai, but they were effective. They worked in teams, shared information, and used their environment to their advantage. Teaching kids about ninjas is a way of showing that brains and creativity are just as important as strength. When a child puts on the Ninja Kid Costume, they aren't only dressing up as a shadow warrior. They are connecting with centuries of history and folklore that celebrate cleverness and adaptability.

And let's not forget the practical side. Parents want a costume that doesn't cause headaches. This one is designed for easy use: no glue, no glitter, no messy makeup. The cotton blend makes it comfortable and breathable, while still strong enough for play. Machine washing keeps it simple to care for, so it can be used again and again. That means this isn't just a Halloween costume. It's a dress-up set kids can use for martial arts birthday parties, school presentations, backyard play, or even as practice wear in a beginner class. Instead of being tossed in a closet after one night, it becomes part of the toy chest for year-round fun.

What makes this costume so exciting is that it feels complete. Kids don't just get a uniform. They also get the hood, the mask, the gauntlets, and a full kit of weapons. They can play the role of the sneaky infiltrator, the quick-moving scout, or the fearless warrior, depending on how the story unfolds in their imagination. It's versatile enough to let them be creative while authentic enough to feel like they're wearing something real. That combination of fun and authenticity is what makes the Ninja Kid Costume stand out from the crowd.

At the end of the day, this is the kind of costume that kids will beg to wear again. It's comfortable, durable, and exciting, with just the right mix of history and imagination. Parents get the peace of mind that comes with quality materials and easy cleaning, while kids get the thrill of stepping into the shoes of a legendary shinobi. Whether they're running from house to house on Halloween night, staging battles in the backyard, or sneaking through the living room like a master of stealth, the Ninja Kid Costume delivers hours of fun, year after year.

This is a full seven piece experience that mixes a real ninja-style uniform with a complete play weapons kit. You get the gi jacket, pants, arm gauntlets, a hood, and a mask, plus a pack of lightweight plastic weapons to bring ninja missions to life.

  • Uniform pieces: jacket, pants, arm gauntlets, hood, mask

  • Also included: 1 pair of nunchaku, 2 plastic shuriken, 1 plastic spike knuckles

Is the Ninja Kid Costume a real ninja gi or just a Halloween outfit?

It is a real ninja-style gi built for active wear. The jacket uses inner ties, the pants have traditional waist and leg ties, and the fabric blend is chosen for comfort and durability. Kids can wear it for Halloween, school events, and light practice. For dojo classes, always follow your instructor's uniform color rules.

What fabric is the uniform made from?

The gi uses a 55 percent cotton and 45 percent polyester blend. Cotton adds softness and breathability, while polyester helps the uniform hold its shape and stand up to repeated washing. The result feels comfortable for long wear and tough enough for repeat play.

Does the costume come with weapons, and are they safe for kids?

Yes. The set includes two plastic swords with scabbards, a pair of nunchaku, two plastic throwing stars, and plastic spike knuckles. These are lightweight prop pieces designed for pretend play. Use with gentle contact, keep away from faces and eyes, and supervise younger children for safe fun.

How should the Ninja Kid Costume be washed and cared for?

Remove all weapons before washing. Wash the uniform in cold water on a gentle cycle with similar colors, then hang dry or tumble on low heat. Turn the jacket and pants inside out to help preserve the fabric and color. Avoid bleach and harsh detergents.

  • Wash: cold, gentle cycle, similar colors
  • Dry: hang or tumble low; remove promptly
  • Avoid: bleach, high heat, strong solvents
  • Prep: turn uniform inside out; place small items in a mesh bag if needed

What is the history of ninjas and how does this costume connect to it?

Ninjas, or shinobi, worked as covert agents in feudal Japan. They relied on disguise, misdirection, and practical tools to gather information and complete missions. While pop culture shows all black outfits, historical shinobi used clothing that blended into farms, towns, or natural terrain. The included hood and mask echo the popular image, while the swords, stars, and nunchaku nod to the varied toolkit associated with ninja legends. Wearing the gi lets kids step into that world of strategy and creativity in a safe, playful way.

Is this costume unisex, and can both boys and girls wear it?

Yes. The gi is unisex, just like standard martial arts uniforms. The adjustable waist and leg ties help fine tune the fit, and the wrap jacket style is comfortable across a range of body types. Check the size chart for height and weight guidance to dial in the best size.

Any defective costumes purchased between September 1st and October 30th must be returned before Halloween in order to receive a refund. After October 30, costumes purchased between these dates may only be returned for exchange of the same item.

"Wow. This is not a costume. It's a real uniform. It's the same material as my son's karate uniform - which I love cause it will be warm - and he loves cause it's a real ninja outfit. This is (obviously) for Halloween but we live and breathe karate in my house so we will be ordering from karate Mart again. Also, this showed up (regular shipping) in less than a week. Very impressed!"

"Purchased one of these for my 5 year old daughter for her birthday and I have to say I am very impressed. It's a regular child size ninja uniform of nice sturdy weight yet breathable. Comes with all of the bells and whistles like the ties, mask, hood, gauntlets and even a pocket on the inside of the jacket. She loves all of the weapons that come with it as well. The only problem is my kid wants to sleep in it and won't take it off. Excellent buy!"
