It's another day on the open road. As you drive down the open highway in Big Bertha's cab, the sun peeks above the horizon. You've been driving all night with nothing but the sound of the tires on the pavement and bad talk radio in the background. You're not really even listening, it's just comforting to have another voice filling the hollow cab. Frank yawns and scratches his ear with his back paw before stretching and laying back down on the leather passenger seat.

You take the exit ramp for the rest area and pull into a mostly empty parking lot. You're exhausted, but you're obsessive about tire pressure. You pick up the economy sized coffee can now laying on its side in a puddle glistening with engine oil. You're relieved to see that everything that matters is still accounted for. The money that's missing is replaceable, but you and Frank are not. You make your way back to Bertha and check the remaining tires. You have a newfound appreciation for the little things as you lock up the cabin, put your solid plastic tire thumper back on its hook, and curl up with Frank in your bunk. Your quirky habit of obsessively checking your tires just may have saved your life.
