From its national martial art of arnis to its variety of knives, daggers, and swords, the Philippines is a country with a blade culture. Balisongs, or butterfly knives, have origins in the Philippines. The kalis, with its signature wavy blade, is another Filipino weapon that was adapted from the Indonesian keris dagger. This Silver Kris Blade Balisong combines these two traditional Filipino weapons, the balisong and kris dagger, into one knife!

This silver colored butterfly knife has a curvy, kris style blade. Kris blades are identifiable by their characteristic wavy shape. Although elegant and distinctive, this undulating shape is not just for aesthetic appeal. While a kalis dagger can be used for slashing and cutting, the curves on the blade can inflict severe internal wounds when used in stabbing attacks. Unlike a traditional kalis, the blade of this kalis balisong is sharp on just one side. However, this design is favorable for its functionality as a butterfly knife, allowing you to flip open this kris butterfly knife and perform tricks without as much risk of cutting yourself. Both the blade and handle of this kris balisong are constructed from durable metal and have a shining, silver-colored finish that will flash as you perform impressive flips, spins, and tricks!

Butterfly knives aren't just for tricks, however. Coincidentally, the same flipping motions that make balisongs popular trick weapons also make them effective self-defense weapons. You can open this metal butterfly knife with just a few flips, all while holding it in one hand! At its full open length, this kris blade butterfly knife is 9.5 inches long. Displaying the sharp 3.5 inch blade, the act of opening this folding kris knife alone may be enough to deter a would-be attacker. The 4.5 inch vented handle has holes that reduce its overall weight as well as improve grip. At 4.5 ounces in weight and 5.5 inches long while closed, this kalis blade Batangas knife is compact and easy to conceal in a pocket, jacket, or bag. Secured by a spring latch locking system, you can safely carry this fan knife on your person. However, when the time comes to wield this self-defense weapon, simply squeezing on the handle will release the latch, making the transition from closed weapon to ready knife quick and easy!

These kris blade Batangas knives, with their kalis style blade, are beautiful metal balisongs that make great gifts for weapon enthusiasts and butterfly knife aficionados. Add a Silver Kris Blade balisong to your collection of butterfly knives today!
