Martial Arts Filmmakers Look To Kickstarter For New Project

A new Kickstarter project from Thousand Pounds Action Company is looking to give martial arts movie fans a way to invest in their favorite film genre with a brand new, fan-funded, webseries. From the Press Release:

Titled Clandestine: Follow The Path, the series aims to bring back character and story driven martial arts entertainment that features expert fight choreography.

The premise behind Clandestine: Follow The Path is grand to say the least, focusing on a female protagonist who finds her life turned on its head when it is revealed the she actually belongs to a long line of powerful martial arts rulers who vie for control over the physical world against four other ancient clans. The story is promised to stay epic in scope yet strongly character-focused in story. Of course, there will be intensely realistic martial arts battles along the way.

Having already put out more than 20 martial arts short films (Naruto Shippuden: Dreamers Fight, Street Fighter X Tekken: The Devil Within) the team is certainly no stranger to all of the challenges involved with intense martial arts choreography. And with more than 13 million collective YouTube hits, this ambitious group of filmmakers seems to have cultivated a dedicated following that may be able to pull off the Kickstarter backing goal of $75,000 in the next 28 days. The project already has 95 backers with a total of $4,666.

The project is certainly an ambitious one and, being a fan of film myself, I wish these guys the best of luck in getting their project made. Take a minute to check out the Clandestine project a little more closely and let us know your thoughts. (Press Release)
