+   DESCRIPTION

Imagine that you have found yourself in a far-off, nameless jungle. You've been tasked with infiltrating a secret enemy base and rescuing a high-value scientist. Given the circumstances, conditions could not be better for your success, since you have your wits about you and are armed with the Bloodlust Combat Knife Set.

The first challenge you come across is a simple booby trap. You can see the thin tripwire in the sunlight. You crouch down and follow the wire to a nearby tree. You pull out your Spring-Assisted Folding Knife, which has a red metallic blade made out of stainless steel and a black thermoplastic polyurethane handle. You open the folding knife with a quick snap and cut the wire from the tree with the curved 3 1/2" blade. This sets off the trap and several boulders fall on where you were standing a moment ago. As the leaves and twigs settle, you fold the knife back and reattach it to your belt with the metal pocket clip.

The next challenge in this jungle adventure is the set of three armed mercenaries approaching your position. They must have heard the trap go off and now they're coming to investigate. Luckily, you have in your weapons package a set of three throwing knives. You pull all three red and black full tang stainless steel knives out of the black nylon sheath, hold them by the black corded handles and wait for the three bad guys to get close enough. They're wielding big guns and have armor, but you're good. You use your military training and years of ninjutsu practice to throw the 7.5" three knives with precision at their necks in rapid succession. Each knife hits a separate jugular and the three men collapse, struggling through their last bloody gasps of air to even see you. But you're too well hidden. Ninja, remember?

When you are sure that the three mercs have drawn their last breath, you continue on to your final challenge: the guard standing by a hooded figure. You've climbed up in the trees and now see that guard looks nervous, like he knows that his three friends have been gone too long. Like a frightened animal, this armed guard is dangerous. In front of him is the scientist you are here to rescue. You can tell because he's tied up and a black sack covers his face. Also, he's wearing one of those white lab coats that scientists always wear.

For the final challenge of your rescue mission, you'll be using your 12.5" Survival Knife. This perfectly balanced stainless steel knife has a red metallic sheen and a thermoplastic rubber handle. You've got the fixed-blade knife held securely in the specially designed thermoplastic sheath that can either go on your belt or wrapped around your leg (you've got it on your thigh). You pull out the large red hunting knife and ambush the guard. He is so surprised that he drops his gun without shooting and falls to the ground.

You press the 7.5" red blade into his neck, just enough that he can feel the razor sharp edge nicking his neck and drawing the tiniest amount of blood. You know that he knows that you mean business.

"I'll never talk," he says, though you know he doesn't mean it. He is shaking. You could probably break him and extract useful information. But that's not the mission.

"Fine by me, you say." You slice his neck open and wipe the blood on his shirt as his body bleeds out. Then you stand up and approach the tied up, hooded scientist.

"It's okay," you say. "I'm here to rescue you."

You use the serrated edge on your fixed-blade knife to cut the rope. With his now-freed hands, he pulls the black sack from his face and you immediately recognize him.

"Blight Killian!"

"I knew you'd come, kiddo."

"I'm here to rescue a scientist. You're a scientist?"

"There's a lot about me that you don't know. Now give me a weapon."

Rather than give him a dangerous weapon from your set, you hand him the Butterfly Trainer Knife because you don't trust him. This butterfly knife has an unsharpened blade connected to a black aluminum handle. Like the rest of your weapons set, the butterfly training knife has a red stainless steel blade. Blight Killian rolls the knife around and sees the dull blade.

"You ought to give me a real knife," he says. "Not one used for training."

"I ought to leave you here after what you pulled in Ninjastan."

"You know your employers won't let you do that. Now come on. We've got a lot of work ahead of us..."
