Star Wars Movie Based On Seven Samurai Isn't A Real Thing After All. We Can Dream Though Can't We?

So in a little roller coaster of movie rumors today, Zack Snyder has denied the rumors which sprang up today that he was to helm a brand new Star Wars project that was to be a re-imagining of Akira Kurosawa's epic classic Seven Samurai but filled with Jedi instead. I genuinely got excited about the idea until just moments ago when Snyder denied the rumors of his involvement in any Star Wars project right now, let alone one based on the samurai film.

Oh Internet! Why must you fill my heart with such hope only to burst it with your facts?!

Ninja Turtle Movie Delays Cease, Begins Shooting In April

After a brief stint with a series of unfortunate events, it appears that Michael Bay's much maligned (or lauded, depending on your taste in explosions) re-boot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise is back on the production track.

Continue reading for a reminder of the pre-production setbacks that have plagued the movie as well as other release details.

Does Neal McDonough look like Ray Liotta?

Yes, I know this has nothing to do with martial arts, but I wanted to get your opinion on something. Over the past 10 years or so, I've noticed the actor Neal McDonough getting more and more popular. You may have seen him in "Captain America" or "Band of Brothers" and I think he is truly a talented actor. I was just curious if anyone else thinks he looks a lot like Ray Liotta, the extraordinary actor from "Goodfellas" and "Cop Land"? I'm sure I could have found some better pictures of the two actors to make them look more similar, but I wanted to be fair.
Martial Arts Movie 'The Grandmaster' Officially Released Overseas, U.S. Release TBA

Legendary Chinese art-house film director Wong Kar Wai finally released his highly anticipated 'The Grandmaster' this week. Nearly 10 years in the making, 'The Grandmaster' is a biopic centered on the martial arts legend Ip Man. I'm sure I don't have to explain here that Ip Man was most famous for being Bruce Lee's instructor.

No U.S. release has been announced just yet, but hopefully it won't be long before we have a chance feast our eyes on what is sure to be a visually stunning martial arts film. Reviews are trickling in and have been positive for the most part so things seem to be looking good so far!

Ryan Gosling Kickboxes His Way To Your Heart In 'Only God Forgives'

In what has quickly become one of my most anticipated movies of 2013, Ryan Gosling will be teaming back up with Drive director Nicolas Refn in his new martial arts movie Only God Forgives. Few details are known just yet, but all of the essentials are there: Ryan Gosling is set to play a vigilante who enters the enters underground muay thai matches. Yeah, sold.

The quality on the teaser trailer above may look like it came straight from Bangkok (and it probably did), but just watch and enjoy. I'll be over here making a list of Ryan Gosling/martial arts jokes.
