Spring-Loaded Baton Review & Strength Test

Spring-Loaded Baton Review & Strength Test
This week for Weapons Wednesday, we tested out some of our spring-loaded batons. We recently began carrying a new type of automatic police baton that uses a different style of trigger mechanism to release it's spring-loaded sections. Because it is so different, we've had a lot of customer asking me to review and test it out in order to determine it's advantages and disadvantages.

In this week's video, I spent some time looking at the different versions of automatic spring-loaded batons we carry and even tested them out in a couple of ways. One of the advantages of a spring-loaded baton over a standard expandable police baton is that the impact caused by releasing the spring-loaded section into an attacker can be a valuable self-defense weapon in itself. So, I decided to test whether or not the spring was strong enough in these batons to bust through a watermelon. Secondly, I chose to test their durability by striking a watermelon as hard as I could.

I know what you are going to say...Why do you keep breaking watermelons in all of your videos? Well, the truth is that they were having a sale on watermelons at the grocery store, so I bought a whole bunch of them and needed to use them up. Watch the video and let us know what you think!

Here's the Video:

Here are the Spring-Loaded Batons I Mention in the Video:
