Mixing things into new combinations can be interesting. Like a toaster calculator, or a hammer with a telescope. But here is some innovation that is as sharp as it is sharp. The Modern Butcher Balisong is a brand new kind of butterfly knife. One that puts a cleaver into a clever design.

Known around the interwebs as a "cleaversong", this flipping fan knife has a butcher knife blade crafted from 440 stainless steel. The tough metal continues down through the handle pieces that are flanked with polished black pakkawood scores. The blade is roughly 3.5-inches long and has an iconic feature of any butcher knife: a hole to hang it from the wall. Both horror movie villains and chef's alike love this large blade for it's chopping capabilities, and you can find the same satisfaction, although on a smaller scale.

The chisel blade of this batangas knife will fold into the handle when you are not using it. The pakkawood is smooth to the touch, and the vented holes offer some grip, but this is more for aesthetic decoration than anything. The vent holes also reduce the weight of this butterfly cleaver to about 4.2 ounces, and the swinging bar latch will make sure the handles are secured, so it will comfortably fold up to about 5 inches long in your pocket.

The mini butcher blade of this balisong has a textured spine, and is given a dark charcoal finish. The fine edge shines as polished steel, after it is sharpened to make chopping and slicing a breeze.
