This sharpened stainless steel knife is dark like it's name suggests, as the metal is covered in a black powder coating. This reduces the reflection of sunlight, so that lions, tigers, and bears aren't alerted when you pull this hunting blade out during the day. This camping knife is a bit on the smaller side at about 7.5 inches long in total with a 2.75-inch angled blade, meaning that it doesn't curve from the hilt to the tip, but has an obvious change in direction in between. Perfect for field dressing or other precision cuts that your bowie knife can't handle, this 4.2-ounce field blade can easily swing on your belt and be there when needed.

With jimping along the back of the straight handle and the angled blade shape with a pointed tip, this nimble knife was designed for straight cuts and chopping though thick materials. The pakkawood handle is smooth and visually pops out against the all black of the metal tang, but if you wanted to have a paracord handle instead, that's not a problem for this ranger! The lanyard hole at the bottom already has a wrapped piece of black paracord of about a few feet, and the sheath has a pouch that contains an L-shaped hex key wrench so you can remove the screws securing the pakkawood. This is in case you want to clean it, decide to use it as a throwing knife, or to add a more textured wrapped handle when you are doing masterful cuts on a felled animal.
