"These make for an absolutely fantastic Jo. strong, and just the right width. These are a bit thin and light for a functional combat bo, but could be used for that if desired. However, for a Jo, this will whirl around with speed and power.
I ordered a 5 foot version, and carefully cut and sanded the size down to be appropriate for my study and size (armpit length), if you do a more traditional style locked in at 4 feet, choose that instead.
I also bought a rubber can foot for this, and put some paracord on the end and now this is my walking stick as well. I can do anywhere, even in uptight high-security areas, and have a functional walking aid, and self-defense tool.
Offers a less lethal option, and is very functional and practical. I'm in love!"
