Sears was one of those people, around the 1880s, and he crafted a tracking knife that would define a style of outdoor survival. The Fat Belly Hunting Knife is a modern take on that blade, made with high end steel and a gorgeous handle, plus enough room for you to add your own style.

Starting with a thick piece of 3CR13 stainless steel, the cutler formed a modified Nessmuk blade that reaches about 6 inches long. This is the name of the self-created wide hunting knife that Mr. Sears made while he was out in the forest for weeks on end. He found the fat belly to be extremely useful for all kinds of tasks, and so this modern version has just as much utility. The fine edge has a slight forward curve to provide more surface area, and the base of the sharpened edge has an extended choil for more control while skinning game.

Given a dark stonewashed finish, this thick tracker knife is set to hit the trail without detection. Running full tang through the beautiful light pakkawood handle, the steel stays thick all the way to the double lanyard holes at the pommel. The handle has an ergonomic curve that fits your grip, and the durable pakkawood is decorated with some mirror polished steel inlays. The high quality handle will show as you carry this 12-inch hunting knife around in the heavy-duty nylon sheath. This can swing from your hip via the belt loop, or be further secured to your pack as you trek out to make camp for the night.
