The octagonal circumference fits your hand perfectly and the grips etched into the handles help increase the surface tension to give you an unshakable grip. That helps you swing with confidence, knowing you have as much control as possible over your weapon. If you're the type to hold your nunchucks closer to the chain connector, then the grips also help know exactly where you're holding the handles.

"I like this set it is very traditional (except for the chain and ball bearings linkage and the grips but that is how I wanted them). My only pointer will be with one of the metal caps being a little loose but the rod that keeps the cap on the nunchaku handle is well attached (it looks like it was not attached all the way down into the handle) nevertheless it do not affect the aesthetic look of the nunchaku. It will be a nice addition to my collection."

"You ever want to hear that nice fluttering-whooshing sound of 12 inches of solid wood parting the air like you're the lost Ninja Turtle? These are the ones that you want. If you train like I do (using something heavier to practice, and lighter to demonstrate), these nunchaku pair nicely with the solid aluminum.
If you look, you'll see that I rated these 4/5- it should be to 4.5/5 (but there's no 1/2 star option). The reason for the docking of a point is due to the set I have separating at the swivel joint, sending tiny ball bearings all over my training room and one end into the drywall.

"Starting each day with these gets me
active, sharp and ready to train. They
have been a very positive influnce on
my fitness regiment and energy.
The design is understated. I went with a lower key. But you would think they had tigers and dragons painted on them, because these intruments play themselves. The sound, the action, the balance make this very serious pair of nuncaku easy to work, fluid, Like Water. Longest journey...

solid construction with good balance
plus, this one would never get smashed
but one thing, careful not to hit your face with this.. because your skull might get shattered if you hit your face by accidentally.. lol
