This is basically the handle, which is made out of blue-anodized aluminum and given a machined diamond pattern. You'll see why that's important when you open the staff.

Mode Number 2: Extended Staff Form
Flick the staff open and marvel at how black steel shafts extend out from both ends and lock into place. This double-ended extendable bo staff is 62" long, which is just over five feet, or 73", which is just over 6 feet. The diamond pattern on the blue handle helps keep your grip secure as you practice spins and kata. At the center of the aluminum handle of this telescoping bo staff is a quick connector that you can use to separate the expandable bo staff into two batons.

Mode Number 3: Pair of Batons
Both batons are 30" long, with 19" of that being the telescoping steel shafts. You still get the great diamond grip pattern and blue anodized finish on the handles. You've now basically doubled the number of weapons you have. Just like the staff form, the extendable batons are not only great for practicing your form, but also deal lots of damage to would-be attackers.

Bonus Mode: Collapsed Batons
Even more compact than the collapsed staff form, each collapsed baton measures only 10" long (well, one is slightly longer because of the quick connector piece). This form saves a lot of space, which is important in storage and transportation. This pair of collapsible batons even fits in the side holsters that we offer as an option.

Bonus Bonus Mode: Staff With One Extension
As is now true of all of our line of telescopic staffs, you can have just one of the two ends open while the other stays closed (this is the "2.0 design" we implemented several years ago) so that you can use the staff with one end collapsed and the other expanded.
