"I received my pair today (I bought two) and I have to say that they are very solid (a little bit heavier than a rattan escrima stick but not by much and way more lightweight than an oak escrima stick). For sparring practice these are excellent since they are less likely to break than a wooden set (also without the risk of a splint flying towards your sparring partner as happens sometimes with oak wood (the rattan will just bend in case of breaking). Do not underestimate this escrima stick, if you are not carefull you could break someone's bone easily (which doubles as a weapon in case you need it for self defense). Aesthetically they look like a straight baton (like the ones the police used in the past) and the engravings on the body of the stick resembles wood (looks beautiful). Nearby the handle you have some nice square engravings (top and bottom of the handle). My only pointer would be the cord to wrap around your wrist (it is too short), but that is something that could be easily fixed. Overall an excellent product. Thanks again Karatemart.com for an excellent product."
