The full tang blade of these swords is made with 65 Manganese steel that has been given a burnt charcoal finish. This coating gives the blade a rustic look while hardening the steel properly. The extremely sharp edge reaches about 26.5 inches long and has a dorsal point on the spine, keeping the traditional curved style alive from the blacksmiths of old. Manganese steel is known for having great edge retention, and this sword will surely slash through foes for ages to come.

The heavy metal doesn't stop with the blade, as the handle itself is crafted with even more of it! This provides the surface area for grip where the creators wrapped black leather strips around for non-slip control. Very important when wielding any Medieval short or longsword around! Your fingers will be protected from incoming attacks with a traditional D-guard, or wide loop around the handle and is also crafted from the manganese steel of the tang. This version of the guard is spiked, so it doesn't get more heavy metal than that!

Taking a battle ready saber out into the world shouldn't be difficult, and the included sheath for this pirate sword has both a belt loop and adjustable shoulder strap. Crafted from premium black genuine leather, the sheath accommodates for the D-guard of the handle and can carry all 2 pounds of this epic antiqued weapon.
