The Heroes Journey Samurai Sword is a 40.5" hand-forged katana made from high-quality materials. From its sharpened 28.5" 1060 carbon steel blade to its 11.5" genuine ray skin handle, this battle ready samurai sword is fit for a hero.

This katana has a 28.5" 1060 carbon steel blade is both sharp and durable. It has the ability to hold an edge, with a hardness of 55HRC. The hand-forged blade has a real hamon created in the tempering process, as well as a blood groove along its length on both sides. The katana measures 40.5" in length.

The 11.5" handle, or tsuka, has genuine ray skin panels with black cotton cord wrapping, or ito. This traditional method creates a secure grip. Ornaments, or menuki, adorn both sides.

This full tang samurai sword is housed in a scabbard, or saya, made from quality hardwood and painted with a black piano finish. This glossy, lacquered surface looks elegant and professional. The wrapping, or sageo, is a thick black cotton cord.

The ornate 3" hand guard, or tsuba, as well as the fuchi and kashira, are made from brass. The tsuba features detailed nautical imagery with hand-painted gold details.
