The saya that houses the carbon steel blade is wooden with a black lacquered coating. A red dragon drawn in a traditional style is added near the bottom of the scabbard, while an intricate red and lacquered gold section is added near the top at the black sageo wrap. Fitted in the scabbard, this katana reaches about 41 inches long, so it will look great fitted on your wall with the black, gold, and red combination showing the sophisticated design.

The scabbard meets the sword at the tsuba, the elegantly embossed handguard that serves as protection and as artistic expression.
