Martial Arts Fighting Game Gets An 80's Facelift This Wednesday In Double Dragon Neon

This Wednesday marks the official launch of WayForward's latest foray into the world of classic video game reboots with Double Dragon Neon. If you are unfamiliar with the classic, side-scroller fighting game franchise (and may I add, shame on you), continue reading for a brief look at the classic arcade game.

For those fans of the Lee brothers that have been wondering of Double Dragon Neon will be able to match the martial arts mastery for which the series is known, you may indeed rest easy. The good folks at Joystiq have seen fit to grace us with an early review and so far the reception is positive.

Flying Swords Of Dragon Gate Gets Limited Release, Lots Of Sandstorms

I'm not sure how Jet Li's newest martial arts movie snuck under the old radar, but better late than never right? And if you're lucky, you'll still be able to catch this one in it's final week of a two week limited release on IMAX 3D.

As far as the movie itself, it's shaping up to be quite a work of eye-candy (though some of the CGI looks a little rough at the end of the trailer).

Here's hoping the martial arts fights and and the story are as entertaining as the trailer quotes would have us believe. Otherwise we'll just have another throwaway piece of popcorn movie fluff. It'll be like Jet Li's The One and The Mummy series had a movie baby.

UPDATE: At least it's getting a 74% on Rotten Tomatoes, so at least there's hope.

Whether or not you consider Parkour (the urban art of freestyle street acrobatics) to be a cousin to the martial arts, there is no arguing the amount of talent and discipline involved in pulling off a fan video like this one.

Ezio and Altair would be proud.

Okay, okay. So there might be some positive tips to take away from this slice ultra-cheesy YouTube gold, but we dare you to watch this thing to completion with a straight face. The awesome part is these guys are completely serious. Of course, we suspect someone had a little fun with the editing on this version to make it extra silly...

But seriously, how can you take notes when you're laughing so hard at these two? Continue reading to watch the video in all its glory.
