Foxtel's The Art Of Fighting - Part 1: Learning To Stand

Australian pay-television giant Foxtel began a short series of educational videos that took a closer look at the fighters of the UFC. Each video focuses on one mixed martial artist, giving each a chance to talk a little about how they got into their chosen sport.

The Art of Fighting is a very thoughtfully produced series ,albeit a bit too brief, and provides a little-seen peek at the stories behind the fists. Check it out when you have a minute. We'll be posting the other two parts as the week progresses.
A Discussion On Ninjas For Your Aural Pleasure


NPR's On Point struck a special chord in our hearts today with it's newest radio show/podcast titled "The History of Ninjas". The show features guest John Man, author of Ninja: 1,000 Years Of The Shadow Warrior discussing the fascinating history behind history's most infamous figures.

Is Mixed Martial Arts The Answer To Football's Woes?

It's no secret that football was under a stronger magnifying glass than usual this season regarding the state of head injuries. Now, more than ever, people are are becoming aware of the significant long-term affects of concussions and other head trauma. While such an aggressive, full-contact sport like football will never truly be free of risk, there may be steps coaches can take to change how they do things. Mixed martial artist and retired Arizona Cardinal, Scott Peters, may have found the solution.
