New Sleeping Dogs Trailer Features Martial Arts Master Georges St-Pierre

When it was revealed that MMA fan-favorite GSP was tapped as spokesperson for Square Enix's much anticipated martial arts action game Sleeping Dogs, it sent a clear message that the team was devoted to giving players a solid fighting experience. The trailer above echoes that sentiment. While I'm still curious to see where this will land on the old review scales, every new trailer I watch for this game inches me closer and closer to a release day purchase.
Bruce Lee Marathon On G4TV Solves Your Martial Arts Deprivation Problem

In keeping the spirit of this weekend's epic EVO tournament, G4TV has decided to have a Bruce Lee marathon, starting today. So you may want to call in sick from work. Even if you're already at work, you should call out. If they say no, just make hissing-static noises and say speak in broken sentences. Then quietly sneak out the back. It probably won't work but what do you care? You're on your way to an awesome kung fu fest!

So what are you're favorite Bruce Lee flicks? Tell us in the comments below!
This Free Documentary About Fighting Games Should Be On Your Watch List This Week

At the forefront of what is virtually an untapped market, FOCUS is a video game documentary produced entirely by G4TV which follows Mike Ross. Ross is a professional gamer who spends the entirety of the documentary intensely preparing for the latest EVO series, a video game tournament dedicated entirely to fighting games.

Like all well done documentaries, you don't even have to be a huge fan of the subject matter to be moved by the underlying story. Whether you're a hardcore joystick jockey or don't know a Shoryuken from a Spinning Bird Kick, we highly recommend taking some time to check this film out. Plus, it's free!

Martial Arts Filmmakers Look To Kickstarter For New Project

A new Kickstarter project from Thousand Pounds Action Company is looking to give martial arts movie fans a way to invest in their favorite film genre with a brand new, fan-funded, webseries. From the Press Release:

Titled Clandestine: Follow The Path, the series aims to bring back character and story driven martial arts entertainment that features expert fight choreography.

The premise behind Clandestine: Follow The Path is grand to say the least, focusing on a female protagonist who finds her life turned on its head when it is revealed the she actually belongs to a long line of powerful martial arts rulers who vie for control over the physical world against four other ancient clans. The story is promised to stay epic in scope yet strongly character-focused in story. Of course, there will be intensely realistic martial arts battles along the way.

Having already put out more than 20 martial arts short films (Naruto Shippuden: Dreamers Fight, Street Fighter X Tekken: The Devil Within) the team is certainly no stranger to all of the challenges involved with intense martial arts choreography. And with more than 13 million collective YouTube hits, this ambitious group of filmmakers seems to have cultivated a dedicated following that may be able to pull off the Kickstarter backing goal of $75,000 in the next 28 days. The project already has 95 backers with a total of $4,666.

The project is certainly an ambitious one and, being a fan of film myself, I wish these guys the best of luck in getting their project made. Take a minute to check out the Clandestine project a little more closely and let us know your thoughts. (Press Release)
Martial Arts Action Meets Hip Hop Style In RZA's 'The Man with the Iron Fists'

Here's the Cliffs Notes version: The Man with the Iron Fists marks the directorial debut of Wu-Tang Clan member RZA. It is produced by Quentin Tarantino, co-written by Eli Roth, and stars Russel Crowe, Lucy Liu, and a slew of hip-hop and martial arts movie stars. In short, it will be gratuitous in its violence, stylish in its action and (hopefully) a stunning martial arts flick. We'll have to wait until later this year before reaching a final verdict. My only complaint: I hope they fix that CGI blood effect by final release. It's pretty distracting.

WARNING: The above trailer is in fact a Red Band Trailer (read: The extra naughty version) for an already violent film. It is not intended for children, young audiences, or those with delicate sensibilities.
