New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Series Trailer Aims For The Kids

For those of you aching to see some footage of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in all of their CGI glory before they officially land on Nickelodeon later this year, you'll want to give this trailer a peek. As a (slightly) older TMNT fan, this trailer was definitely a bit too geared towards the young'uns for my tastes.

I know full well it's a kids show, but I was so hoping for something a little darker. Of course, if you've always been a fan of anthropomorphic amphibians shouting "Boo-ya-ka-sha!" at their foes, then by all means have a ball. I'll be over here watching some He-Man cartoons.
New Taken 2 Trailer Guarantees Vicious Close Quarters Combat At A Theater Near You

Okay, okay. So the plot presented in this new trailer for Taken 2 is dicey at best. Please, for the love of all that is good in movies, do not allow the daughter to actually beat up any of the revenge-seeking terrorists that will surely populate this film. The whole 'daughter of a hard-boiled anti-terrorism expert can kick butt too' will FAIL.

Sure, much of the action from the first Taken was a step away from reality, but one of the things it did bring to the table was the fiercely raw intensity that fueled the CQC fight scenes. Grown men getting whupped by an overly-excited tween is going to take it just one step too far.

We'll see how the sequel holds up when the film lands in theaters in October.
Expendables 2 Movie Game Has Leaked Images... (Not Really)

Here's the story as we see it:

A lone, bleary-eyed intern sat at his desk, sifting through stack upon unending stack of busy work. Redundant office memos, nonsensical correspondence, and rows upon columns of mind-numbing spreadsheets. Long gone were any hopes of fortune and glory reaped through aiding the development team behind the Expendables 2 game. Those sweet fantasies had died a cold, whimpering death. Suffocated by a flood of fluorescent office-lighting and choked by reams of copy paper. Until today.

How the game manual made it's way to the young interns desk was never made entirely clear. Perhaps a sinister move of petty cruelty. Perhaps a mistyped address label. Perhaps fate... Whatever the agent, as the young intern flipped casually through the pages what was surely the only copy of The Expendables game manual in existence, the golden-hued dreams of fortune and glory returned, washing over him in a single instant. A tingling baptism of hope realized. But who would believe such a turn of fortune?

In a single deft move, the intern's phone was in hand, ready to shoot. Soft, electronic shutter-clicks filled the cavernous space, echoing in the darkness like the unanswered mating calls of some exotic cave-dwelling insect. Snikk. Snikk.

I must send these to the guys at KarateMart! They have the necessary means to make these images known. To make my awesomeness known!

A flurry of swipes across a smartphone touchscreen was all that it took to send the images to their intended destination. With painful care, the intern wiped the manual of all signs of his presence and placed it back in the exact position in which he had discovered it. He then took an early lunch.

Of course, what you have just read is both slightly embellished and an outright lie. In fact, not a word of what you just read is true. But still, we hope you enjoy the following 'fake' Expendables 2 manual pages as much as we do.

New Michael Bay Helmed Ninja Turtles Movie Reboot Delayed

Paramount Pictures, the studio in charge of the recently announced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie re-imagining have officially pushed the release date of the film back to May 16, 2004. It would appear that pre-production has run on a little longer than estimated (perhaps trying to refine the whole mutant/alien origins fiasco?)

While Turtles fans around the world may be lower than a sewer-dwelling amphibian by now, this Turtle Power infused writer would like to take a quick second to look at the bright side. For one, any extra time devoted to fleshing out the details of a story in before filming should (hopefully) result in a much better final product.

I'm as excited as the next fan to see what the movie will have in store for my green childhood friends, but I'm willing to forgo a few extra months if it means a cohesive story (read: NOT Transformers 2).
